Physiology to Disease: Eosinophils

Carol Carol

The scientific community is becoming increasingly interested in eosinophils, despite the fact that they are the second least represented granulocyte subpopulation in blood circulation, because of their intricate pathophysiological role in a variety of local and systemic inflammatory diseases, cancer, and thrombosis. Eosinophils are essential for the management of parasite infections, but mounting data indicates that they also play a critical defensive role against bacterial, viral, and HIV pathogens. On the other hand, eosinophils' capacity to mount a vigorous defence against invasive pathogens by releasing a wide range of chemicals might prove harmful to the host tissues and dysregulate hemostasis.molecular abnormalities. Because the synthesis of the alpha chain is unaffected, there is an uneven amount of globin chain production, which results in an abundance of chains .
